may take months, even years for you to reach our idea weight. You must all learn to be patient and look for
the stress triggers in our lives that cause us to overeat.
“Appreciation for all that we have.” In our overly materialistic world, many of us focus our intentions in
getting new things and we forget to be satisfied with what we already have. If you are simply more thankful
and grateful for what you have, you can focus more attention on exercise and improving your eating habits.
“Tolerance for those with different struggles.” Too often, all of us get overly impatient with other people as
they struggle with the different oddities in life. The best approach is for us to accept others for what they
are even if it appears to be strange for us.
“Freedom to live beyond the limitations of our past ways.” We all the freedom to think like a thin person. As
soon as you decide to lose the weight, you have a choice to either adopt a whole new lifestyle or keep
eating in the way that caused us to gain the pounds. The choice is yours.
“Ability to feel your love for us and our love for each other.” Although you may have gained many pounds,
this does not mean that God does not love you or that others look at you with disdain. You must love
yourself regardless and also allow God to love you. You must also begin to love others and allow them to
love you.
“Strength to get up and try again even when we feel it is hopeless.” Please realize that no matter how

Kimberly Floyd knew how to lose weight: She studied nutrition and worked as a registered nurse

Church was one of the last places Jackie Halgash thought she’d go to lose weight. Though she
was raised as a Catholic, she never considered herself overly religious. Still, when a friend
suggested she try a faith-based diet program, she agreed. Her weight had reached 245 pounds;
she felt like she had no other place to go.
In 2002, Halgash signed up for a Catholic plan called the Light Weigh. Its message: Seek comfort
in God, not food. That’s what hit home for Halgash: “I’d gorge on cookies when I was sad, and it
didn’t help,” she recalls. Through Bible study classes and videos, she figured out that she
needed something more profound to feel at peace. “It’s like I had a spiritual ‘hole’ in my heart,”
explains Halgash. “I tried to fill it with food but never felt content. When I turned to prayer, I felt
complete.” One basic lesson she learned: Eat when you’re hungry, stop when you’re full. “We
were given hunger cues for a reason,” she says. If she’s tempted to eat more, Halgash thinks of
giving up the excess food as a sacrifice for someone else — her children or the patients in the
hospital where she works. “Cutting portions is easier when it’s an act of love,” she says. Within
18 months, Halgash lost 100 pounds — and maintained it since.
Take five
When you have a craving, wait a few minutes before you eat. A change of pace or a couple of
deep breaths may also help it pass.
Eat in slow motion
Put your fork down after each bite and chew your food thoroughly (and swallow) before picking it
up again. This makes you more conscious of when you’re full.
SO WHY START TODAY?
Prayer helps us lose weight in a number of ways. First, when in the proper state of mind for
prayer, you are not in stress …Or should I say, your stress response is in the process of turning
itself off. When you relax and pray, your body is in a healing state and is releasing excess stress
and weight. Another way to lose weight with prayer is to visualize and affirm a healthier you, (I

smiling and having fun being healthy and fit. Don’t stare in the mirror and hate what you see;
love what you see in the mirror and it will gradually become that which you wish it to be. This will

what you are inspired to do… And Pray and be… A happy person, with health and fitness on their
mind, soon you will be inspired to do something fun and healthy.
Prayer can also help you change your thoughts and attitudes about yourself, your life, and the
food you eat. By choosing better thoughts, you’ll experience better emotions and you’ll find
yourself doing more beneficial and rewarding things with your time. Pray that your food sins are
forgiven, the abuse you have done to your body, pray and be forgiven so you can move forward
and be born again body wise…
So, sit back, relax, and pray your way to a healthier, happier you; and, before you can say,

Turn Off the TV and stop surfing the web..
Scientists at Brookhaven National Laboratory in New York recently determined that simply
seeing food can trigger a physiological “feed me” response. And I think we can all admit that the
sin of the thoughts of eating some of those foods is terrible when you are already laying there
with a full belly. So turn off the tv and get off the web in times of hunger… Listen to this.. In the
study, visual food cues caused brain activity to jump by 24 percent—mostly in the orbitofrontal
cortex, the area of the brain related to drive and acquisition. So a constant barrage of pizza-
delivery ads on TV could test your limits. And don’t get me started on the internet temptations.
Praying the Fat Away…Christian and spiritual men report feeling greater intimacy with God
through prayer are more likely to be physically active than other men, according to research
from Cornell University. “Studies have shown that those who have more social support move
more, and being closer to God may give men that support,” says lead researcher Karen Kim.
Another possible reason: “General religion in the United States encompasses theological
teachings about the body as a temple, which may also lead to the consumption of a healthier diet
and increased physical activity,” she adds. Amen to that.
WHY NOW?
Long summer days can help you lose weight. “The best time to start a diet is in May, because the
days are very long, which makes your energy levels go up and your food cravings go down,”
says Judith Wurtman, Ph.D., a nutrition researcher at MIT. “You’ll eat less and exercise more.” So
if you get home and it’s still light, go for that run.

Oh Lord, I Pray… Help Me Lose Weight Today!
Prayer and dieting have a lot in common. We have all seen the new church’s
popping up with weight loss on their minds. Believe is a strong power, and
many people are losing weight and keeping it off, THEY HAVE THE THREE D’S
I have a confession to make. There have been too many calories consumed at
each meal, and too few fasts in my life lately: too much sitting at the computer
working on the changes on Prothinspo.com. and Keeping up with the other
Prothispoer’s here.
But it’s not my fault. I’m a victim of uncontrollable circumstances caused by
others:
• My kids: It would be cruel not to buy them cookies for snacks, deserts
and lunches and it would be impolite not to eat a few with them. (No more than
six or eight at a time! Just kidding but it seems that way)
• My house: Much of my time is spent in the house within easy reach of the
treats. Writing for Prothinspo has helped but, not kept me out of the cabinets
lately.
• My job: I work so hard there simply is no extra time to exercise.
• My lifestyle: There is no time to cook nutritional meals; so quick-fix junk
food is a necessity, sometimes.
• My Female-hood: Can I help it if my I am always menstrual, premenstrual
or post menstrual, therefore, causing my uncontrollable urge to consume large
quantities of chocolate? Are the violins softly playing in the background? Does
anyone out there feel sorry for me? How does the country song go? ”Here’s a
quarter. Call someone who cares!”
The point is simply, I need to lose weight and there is really only one basic way
to succeed.
Forget the latest fads and learn the secret of the three D’s: Discipline,
Diligence and Devotion to exercise. All of my creative excuses fall flat
because diet and exercise will help me do more work, spend time with the
kids, feel better, live longer and have extra energy for fun. The discipline
practiced today reaps rewards of health, happiness and a slim waistline
tomorrow.
So, what does this have to do with prayer? Well, everything! NOW LET ME
FIRST SAY THAT IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT RELIGION YOU ARE OR IF YOU
BELIEVE IN GOD OR JUST A HIGHER POWER!!
Charles Wheeler once said: “Prayer should be like the steering wheel of a
car.” How could a car possibly function without a steering wheel? Instead, we
more often treat prayer as a spare-tire. We only use it when there is something
flat in our lives. But wait; Lord… it’s not my fault. I’m a victim!
We sound like the title of a recent book. “O Lord, I Have Sinned, but I Have
Some Great Excuses! Our prayer life failures sound a lot like my diet and
exercise excuses. We’re busy with the children, the spouse, the job, the
chores and a hectic lifestyle that allows no time for God. “I watch ‘Touched By
An Angel’ every week. Does that count?”
God’s attitude toward prayer is obvious: “I love them that love me; and those
that seek me early shall find me.” (Proverbs 8:17) “Listen to my voice in the
morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.”
(Psalm 5:3)
The point is: God wants to have a relationship with us, which can only happen
through habitual prayer. This brings up those same three D’s: Discipline,
Diligence and Devotion to God. Again the creative excuses fall flat because a
good prayer life will help us do more work, spend extra time with the kids, feel
better, live longer and guarantee us an extraordinary eternal life!
People ask me everyday what was the strongest product that I have taken to
lose weight the fastest. I took Prothinspo’s Hydroxylim/ Diet Slim…I chose this

moderately obese individuals were randomly assigned to three groups.
Group 1 received just calcium/potassium salt of 60% HCA extract from
Garcinia cambogia.
Group 2 received the Garcinia cambogia extract, chromium polynicotinate,
and Gymnema sylvestre extract.
Group 3 received a placebo. All subjects received a 2000 kcal/day diet,
participated in supervised walking five times per week, and took their
assigned test supplements 3 times daily, 30 to 60 minutes before meals.
Test measurements were then performed throughout the study, evaluating
changes in bodyweight, body mass index (BMI), appetite, blood lipids, and
markers of fat oxidation.
After 8 weeks, Group 1 lost an average of 10 pounds, Group 2 lost 12.54
pounds, and the placebo group lost 3.53 pounds. At 8 weeks, both Group 1
and 2 were found to have lost significantly more weight than the placebo
group. A reduction in appetite was also demonstrated in both Group 1 and 2.
In addition, both Group 1 and 2 showed a significant increase in indicators of
fat breakdown. It was concluded that supplementation with the combination
of (-)– hydroxycitric acid (HCA-SX), niacin-bound chromium, and Gymnema
Sylvestre Extract can help people with weight management. Very Cool Huh?
So there is more…
The next study was an 8 week study….In this 8-week, randomized, double-
blind, placebo-controlled human trial, 30 moderately obese subjects were
divided into three groups. Group 1 received just the calcium/potassium salt
of 60% HCA extract from Garcinia cambogia. Group 2 received Garcinia
cambogia extract, chromium polynicotinate, and Gymnema sylvestre extract.
Group 3 received a placebo. All subjects were placed on a 2000 kcal/day diet;
ingested the assigned test supplements 3 times daily, 30 to 60 minutes prior
to meals; and participated in supervised walking five times per week. At the
end of 8 weeks, Group 1 lost, on average, 12.1 pounds. Group 2 lost, on
average, 14.99 pounds. Group 3 lost, on average, 3.06 pounds. At the end of
the study period, weight-loss values in both Group 1 and Group 2 were
significantly greater than in the placebo group. Moreover, the placebo group
showed a slight increase in food consumption, while the HCA groups both
showed a significant reduction in appetite compared to placebo. Based on
the results from this study, it was concluded that the unique HCA extract
used in this trial, either alone or in combination with Gymnema Sylvestre
Extract and niacin-bound chromium, is effective in helping control appetite,
increase fat oxidation, and promote weight loss.
