10/1/10Congrats Comment #41 – Andrea
As a young kid in elementary school, I distinctly remember opening my lunchbox to find a sweet handwritten note from my mom telling me she missed me, or she hoped I was having a good day. It made me smile, and feel good for the rest of the day. Since Makenna is now in First Grade, she stays at school all day to eat lunch, and I wanted to pass on the note in the lunchbox tradition to my kids. Unlike my mother, I have two younger children tugging at my PJ bottoms while I try to get their breakfast on the table, and pack Makenna’s lunch, so handwritten notes are sometimes hard to include. Then I heard about
and their Lunchbox Love notes and knew the tradition I loved as a young girl would live on!
Say Please is a company founded by friends and moms, Judi Willard and Mary Fuller. They decided to create a company that featured upbeat phrases and sentiments that made people feel great. Thus, Lunchbox Love cards were born! Lunchbox Love are cards with different phrases and fun facts, plus 2 blanks. Their credit card size plastic case fits easily into a pocket, purse or on a counter top – making it easy to grab and give. Lunchbox Love comes in many volumes with special phrases for kids, girlfriends, coworkers, and those you appreciate! They cards are not only perfect for a lunchbox, but you could also stick the cards in a backpack, binder, or on a pillow!
I put a Lunchbox Love card in Makenna’s lunch on the second day of school. She loved it! For a first grader, she’s an advanced reader, so she was able to read the card with no problems. If you child is an average reader, I would recommend a 2nd-3rd grade+ child, or an adult around willing to help read the beautiful message and fun fact! I loved the cards because it was not only easy to tuck right into her lunchbox, but it was colorful and cute too!
