Quick and Easy Summer Nail Art with Neons

Disclaimer: Purchased by me. See bottom for more info

I mentioned earlier in the week that Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics Julie G nail polish in 9 to 5 is one of my favorite colors, and I had a blast trying to figure out some fun, easy nail art using 9 to 5 with another bold, bright color perfect for summer. I loved the way the my bottle of 9 to 5 looked next to my bottle of Fierce & Fab, so I decided to get something together that I think is pretty easy to do!

Here’s what you’ll need before you start:

  • Base coat
  • Julie G polishes in 9 to 5 and Fierce & Fab
  • Top coat
  • Toothpick
  • A paper plate or mixing palette
  • Clear rhinestones/iridescent rhinestones – your choice!
  • Silver or gold studs that match your rhinestones

Step one:

Paint your nails with two coats of 9 to 5 on your thumb, index, middle and ring finger. Paint your pinky with two coats of Fierce & Fab.

Seal with top coat.

Step two:

Take a little bit of both colors, and scribble with a toothpick to mix up the colors; enough so they’re combined, but so that the individual colors still streak through.

Grab some of the swirled color onto the toothpick and rub it on the top third of your middle and ring fingers, to continue the random swirl.

Step Three:

Use a dab of top coat on the nail to adhere silver studs to the base of your thumb, index and pinky fingers. Then choose two different sized rhinestones for your middle fingers. Use the largest rhinestone in the center, and put the two smaller ones on either side. Choose size depending on how wide your nail bed is.

I found tweezers to be very helpful in putting the rhinestones and studs on my nails!

Seal all rhinestones onto nail with top coat.

The completed look:

Presto! A simple, quick and easy nail art look that will definitely get you compliments!

Using top coat to seal the first two layers of polish before adding the nail art not only dries the polish quicker (if you use fast-dry top coat like I did – I used Cult Nails Wicked Fast) – but it also makes the mani stronger and more reinforced for wear.

Both polishes are $3.99 on their own and sold at Rite Aid and through Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics website. You can also purchase these polishes as part of my blogger special with Jesse’s Girl for $20.01, with other great products! Check the deal out HERE. Also, there’s free shipping for U.S.A. residents. What do you think of this nail art look? Would you sport it?! What other colors would you use for it?!
