As a little girl, I always used to have the blues when Christmas was over. I was just telling my fiancé the other day that Christmas just isn’t the same anymore as an adult. I still get sad when the holidays are over, but it’s also kind of a relief because of all the craziness! Maybe I’ve just been a grinch lately, but I feel like the magic won’t come back until I have my own children!
The nice thing about Christmas getting done with is that New Year’s Eve is fast approaching! I’m super excited to be doing something fun this year for NYE with Trevor. The year before last he was on call for his EMS service so we didn’t go out, and last year we had a blast in Minneapolis! We originally didn’t have any plans until a friend invited us, and I’m so excited to dress up and spend the night with friends!
I thought I would post about some of my favorite New Year’s Eve MUST-HAVES for those of you who are planning a party! You know how I am with my party-planning- (the quicker & the easier- the better!!!). You an see what I mean by checking out party-planning tutorials for Halloween and the holidays here and here.
Although I won’t be throwing anything this year, I whipped up a few of my favorite NYE essentials for you to throw a no-stress New Year’s Eve party with my future mother-in-law, Michelle! If you’ve been following my other party-planning tutorials, you know by now that she’s a genius at this kind of thing! Once again, these beautiful pictures were taken at her house, and all of the decor is hers as well. I wish I could take credit for all of this!
Here are some of my New Year’s MUST-HAVES:
Come on, people! It’s a new year! Let’s start it off with a bang. The key is lots and lots of glitter. In this tutorial I stuck with silver, black, and gold.
If you are having a party, make sure you have some non-alcoholic champagne for friends and family who don’t drink or who are under 21. I remember that my mother used to buy us sparkling grape juice when we were kids.
This one seems obvious, but confetti can get lost in the shuffle when you are preparing for everything else! Wanna hear another cute story from my childhood? As a kid, I used to manually cut out squares of colorful construction paper for HOURS leading up to NYE! I was so excited to throw that confetti as soon as the ball dropped…but I’m pretty sure that my parents’ didn’t exactly love vacuuming it up!
Quick and easy snacks
Like I said, I’m a big fan of purchase things that are quick and easy (no-bake or mess!!) Here’s another fabulous idea (and a new snack that I just found that I LOVE!) Those of you who are obsessed with popcorn (like me!) I know you’ll love this fun Pop Works & Company flavored popcorn! Pop Works & Company starts with light and airy popcorn, adds sweet glazes and drizzles and sprinkles bits of sweet treats over the top resulting in three delicious flavors; Cookies & Cream, Salted Caramel & Fudge, and Birthday Cake. Of course, I had to try all three flavors!
Pop Works & Company is also launching a line of ready-to-eat popcorn providing hosts and gift givers with a unique and novel twist to a traditional party favorite.Yay!!! Too bad I didn’t try this sooner or could have included it in my holiday gift guide from a few weeks back. I guess it’s never too late to plan ahead for the future!
Okay, putting this in was kind of a joke but kind of not. Things are always more fun with hats!!
Hope you enjoyed my fun pictures and a quick and easy New Years Eve party essentials! If you want more information on this yummy popcorn that I mentioned above, Pop Works & Company is offering an introductory price of $15.99 on its Pop Box, a colorful and versatile box which can be filled with the 3 different popcorn flavors. They’re also offering free 2-Day shipping through New Year’s Eve! Pop Works & Company is sold exclusively online and you can choose one of your favorite flavors or “Build a Box” by mixing and matching all three flavors. YUMMY!!!
