New! OCC + DWV Lip and Nail Duos

Disclaimer: Sample. See bottom for more.

Last week, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics held a launch party to announce the new faces of the brand – Detox, Vicky Vox and Willam Belli, three fabulous drag queens who hail from ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race.’ Willam was also a recurring character in one of my all-time favorite TV shows, ‘Nip/Tuck.’

The queens looked FABULOUS, and gave a funny intro to the event and some of OCC’s new products after they were introduced as the new faces of the brand:

In addition to OCC’s new Stained Gloss Lip Tars, the ladies were introducing their six Lip and Nail duo sets, pairs of the most popular OCC Lip Tar and Nail Lacquer colors; Black Dahlia, Anime, Kava Kava, Strumpet, NSFW and Grandma. The set includes a Lip Tar and Nail Lacquer of the same color, and retails for $22.50 on Sephora’s site (more below, including link to purchase). I have three of these sets to share swatches/photos of with you today!

Black Dahlia:

Black Dahlia is a deep blackened red. For this pale girl, the color looks frightening in the Lip Tar tube. But used with a light hand, it’s a great, vampy red! PERFECT for fall and winter months. For the nail, this color is a staple, vampy red.

Kava Kava:

Kava Kava is a peach beige Lip Tar and a champagne frost nail polish with micro silver glitter. These are nice, light choices, without season and work appropriate, dare I say?!

Anime:

Anime is a neon pink that my camera hated capturing on my nails! This is my favorite of the three sets, I confess! Although I am definitely jonesing for Strumpet and NSFW. Which means Not Safe for Work, by the way!

So what can I say about Lip Tars? These are just amazing lip products. They are so pigmented, so opaque and strong, that the tiniest dab’ll do ya. I start out super conservatively, and build up color as I apply. And I have a paper towel around to clean up my fingers because these are super strong and wear amazing. If you build up, you won’t have too much product on your lips (which can lead to feathering etc).

OCC’s nail polish is also a great, well-pigmented formula. I like the rectangular shape of the bottles and the brush. They’re comfortable to apply. And they hold up well for me, with little chipping/tip wear over a couple days of wear (that’s about as long as I’ve tried them so far!)

As I mentioned, these sets are $22.50, and available at Sephora.com here.

I thought I’d include a couple more shots from the launch party at Sephora Times Square, NYC, last week!

Here’s me with DWV:

And me with Willam! I was a bit star struck and in awe of all of them, and their fabulous makeup. I think my heart dropped when Willam complimented my eye makeup and Vicky complimented my nails! OMG!:

What do you think of these new duos?! Are there any must-haves?! I MUST have Strumpet and NSFW. I have Very NSFW, so to add this true red creme would be awesome!

Also – what do you think of these ladies as the new face behind OCC?! They bring character and sass to the brand, that’s for sure! I think it’s awesome!
