Le Méridien Beach Plaza Monte Carlo

Live the high life at Le Méridien Beach Plaza hotel and love every minute of your stay in Monaco. Glitz and glamour aren’t hard to come by in this part of the world but if you want to make the most of the Mediterranean, Le Méridien Beach Plaza Hotel is the only hotel in Monte Carlo with its own private beach…

he glitzy sibling of the Côte d’Azur,

the municipality of Monaco has squeezed into an area no bigger than London’s Hyde Park. Directly between the flashy French and Italian Rivieras, Monte Carlo is dominated by an unmistakable cluster of towers. What it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in extravagance. Michelin stars, magnificent buildings, luxury stores, mega yachts and uber expensive car dealerships saturate this well established Mediterranean playground. If cars are your thing, you’ll want to keep your mouth closed to contain your drooling. You won’t see many regular rust buckets round here, the roads are royally clogged with Aston Martins, Ferraris and Bentleys, all out for a joy ride along the route made famous by Monte Carlo’s annual transformation into a

Formula One Grand Prix

race track.

ou certainly wouldn’t ever be the only one

inside the spectacular Casino de Monte Carlo enjoying a martini in an ode to James Bond- shaken, not stirred, of course. One of the world’s first major casinos and probably its most lavish, the Casino de Monte Carlo casts an extravagant spell over Place du Casino that sets the town abuzz. But when you’re done with the martinis and you’ve finished marinating in the madness of the world’s most impressive car park, Le Méridien Beach Plaza is the perfect place to relax. Nestled beside the huge outdoor pool complex, you’ll find your very own beach paradise. Decked out with sun lounges and serviced by both a bar and a gelato shop, the only running around you’ll really need to do, will be to cool off in the clear, blue shallows of the Mediterranean…The hotel’s Deluxe rooms were a bright blend of contemporary and classic, all of them with sizeable private balconies, but it was the incredible resort facilities that really took the cake. The fitness facilities were top notch.  The two level gym was one of the better “hotel” set ups I’ve encountered.

uests are spoilt for choice in the relax & unwind department as well.

Complimenting the private beach and immaculate outdoor pool complex there is an indoor pool right beside the gym. Aqua aerobics classes took place early each morning; lead by a young twinkle toed French man from the side of the pool, it looked like hilarious fun.  Huge buffet breakfasts, seafood lunches and outdoor barbecues were served on the terrace overlooking the beach.  For the late night sweet tooth, some seriously delicious desserts were available on the room service menu. The deconstructed lemon Meringue number was as exquisite as the chocolate mousse was life-changing. Definitely the perfect place to stay on your next

visit to Monaco

. If you fancy venturing just a few hundred metres down the road, you should try the exquisite Michelin star restaurant Elsa while you’re in the area. See my raving review of the experience
