Milani Cosmetics has exciting new lip launches for 2014, and I am stoked to share one of them with you today!
Guys, meet Lip Intense Liquid Color!
This new product from Milani comes in four shades – the hottest, on-trend shades right now, in my opinion (a beautiful purple, two shades of pink and a red!).
The brand describes this new lippie as:
- “Infused with pure pigments for a shockingly intense full lip color
- Application of a gloss with the longevity of a lipstick
- Lightweight, full-coverage formula
- Made in Italy.”
So how do these lippies perform? Let’s get into it!
Here’s the applicator, which is a cross between a thin paddle and a doe foot applicator – kinda like a doe foot but straight, not curved:
You can see the product on the wand is just saturated with color!
Here’s the ingredients on the two colors I tried, Fiery Coral (left) and Pink Rave (right):
And how about some swatches?!
Pink Rave is a beautiful, blue undertone pink creme. That second collage picture is spot-on for the color in real life. I received many compliments on my lips when I wore this!
Fiery Coral is a less-intense pink, but by no means less pigmented. This creamy lippie is still a pop of color!
Both of these were easy to apply, and I found it easy to fill out the shape of my lips. Sometimes I find that hard with lipstick – do you? The applicator made it easy for me to go with the natural lines of my lips for even application.
As far as pigmentation, these are, indeed, intense. Beautiful, bold color!
In terms of wear, these did wonderful. I had no change in the appearance of my lip color for at least three hours after I applied it. I felt the creaminess of the lip product lingering. I did eat within about two or three hours the day I wore Fiery Coral, and wiped all the lip color off my lips with a napkin, out of habit, forgetting I was reviewing it!
Also important to mention, I had no feathering. Sometimes liquid lip color will feather on my lips, but I experienced no feathering. And in wear-testing another Milani product, I did have an anti-feathering liner on one half of my lips when I wore Pink Rave but both sides wore the same!
I feel like Milani is justified in the claim that these apply like a gloss, but wear like a lipstick.
These launch in February (only a matter of days now!!) and they will retail for $6.49. They’ll be available at CVS, Walgreens and Walmart, and I will HAVE to have the other two hues – Red Extreme and Violet Addict.
What do you think? Are you intrigued by the liquid color? Do you like the sounds of a liquid that doesn’t feather? What are your thoughts on this launch?!
