Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip Plumper in Milan

I’ve used all types of lip plumpers – from the kind that tingle a little bit to the kind that makes your lips feel like they’re exploding from a bee sting!

Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip Plumper fits into the milder category of lip plumper, offering a light plumping sensation that lasts for a while, until it turns into a longer cooling sensation.

Here is a list of the ingredients (click to enlarge):

This plumper has an interesting scent; I can pick up notes from the ginger root oil, shea butter and tangerine, along with a cinnamon or mint (I’m definitely not one of those people who can sip a wine or smell a fragrance and tell you the highs and lows of the smell!), which contributes to the plumping.

Just Kissed comes in seven shades, including the one I have swatches and review of today, Milan. The seven shades are named after major international cities – Madrid, NYC, Milan etc.

Here’s a tube shot of Milan:

I was expecting a nice, opaque cross between a rose and and mauve pink. In one swipe, Milan is a great color, but more sheer than I thought:

On the left is Milan after a couple swipes. On the right is Milan after several swipes. Here are a couple lip swatches. Before Just Kissed:

After Milan:

I applied Milan in the morning, and there were only traces of it left by lunch; I had it on about four or five hours and about two or three hours in, my lips still felt moisturized.

I reapplied the lip plumper after lunch, when I was more awake, to take note of how long the actual plumping sensation lasted! It definitely lasted at least a half hour. The cooling, minty sensation lasts for at least a couple hours.

The plumper easily applies, and as I mentioned, my lips felt moisturized. It did feel tacky after a couple hours of wear; when my lips came together, they stuck and smacked a bit.

As far as whether it actually plumped my lips, I’m not sure it did a whole heck of a lot. My lips looked…I hate to use the word but the plumper made my lips look supple. I liked how my lips looked. This is a great choice for the office, and to pair with the ever-growing selection of neutral eyeshadow palettes.
