DIY Infused Water
Good morning and happy Friday!
So, the FUNNIEST thing happened last week. Trevor came home with a bag of fruit from the grocery store. He starting babbling that he wanted to make a “fruit water” recipe that he saw on Facebook, and that we had to go buy mason jars ASAP. Now, if you knew Trevor, you would be laughing so hard because you would know that he’s not the type to get “creatively inspired” like this. I joked with him, “Oh, were you on Pinterest secretly at work?!” (His candid response was that no, he still has his man-card in check.)
So I have to say thanks to my honey for inspiring this blog post! He inspired me to give a stab at my own fruit infused water, and I must say that it turned out pretty dang good! I made two different recipes for you today to enjoy. It’s easy, healthy, and best of all, fun to make! But first of all….
Why drink fruit infused water?

Fruit infused water is a great alternative for those of you who drink too much soda or other sugary drinks. This is the reason why Trevor wanted to try it in the first place; he felt that he needed to cut back on the soda. I’m proud of him for thinking of a healthy alternative to those sugary and calorie-loaded drinks. Fruit-infused water is virtually calorie-free and helps you lose weight by keeping you full by drinking that water! Which brings me to the next benefit of fruit-infused water…
Helps you stay hydrated
This is why I decided to make my own fruit-infused water. I am SUPER BAD at drinking water. I have actually fainted in the past because I’ve been so dehydrated. It’s not that I don’t WANT to drink water; my problem is that I literally FORGET to! Sometimes, I don’t drink water the entire day and suddenly remember right before I go to bed! I know…not good at all! Now that I made this infused water, I can keep it nearby me and sip on it all day because it just tastes so good! I literally feel like I am starting to get addicted to it.
Flushes out toxins in your body
Fruit infused water is full of antioxidants that naturally flush out the junk in your body. Along with that, it will help your body release fat cells, boost your metabolism, keep food moving through your system, help with fatigue, and improve your mood overall. WOW!! A lot of great benefits! I never tried fruit-infused water until this week. I love it so much that I may try it as a detox for awhile to get rid of all the junk I’ve been eating lately!
I seriously feel that this water, especially the Cucumber Lemon recipe, has curbed my hunger when I was craving the junk food. The water filled my stomach and the fruit tricked my body into thinking that I was having a sweet treat!
As you can see, there are so many great benefits to fruit infused water. My only regret is that I didn’t try it until recently!
Here are 2 recipes for you to try at home. Enjoy!
Berry Blast Infused Water
1 cup of strawberries
1/2 cup blackberries
Slice strawberries first. Take a large mason jar and fill it 1/3 up with strawberries and blackberries. Pour water into the jar until the jar is halfway full. Finally, fill the rest of the mason jar up to the top with ice. At the top, add fruit to make it look pretty! Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. The longer the fruit sits in the chilled water, the better it will taste!
Lemon Cucumber Infused Water
1 medium sized cucumber
Slice cucumbers and lemon first. Take a large mason jar and fill it 1/3 up with half of your cucumber slices and about 5 lemon slices. Pour water into the jar until the jar is halfway full. Finally, fill the rest of the mason jar up to the top with ice. At the top, add cucumber and lemon slices to make it look pretty! Again, you’re going to want to refrigerate it for at least 2 hours.
