Cult Nails Behind Closed Doors Collection

When I started seeing swatches of Cult Nails Behind Closed Doors Collection popping up on Twitter and Instagram, I immediately began counting down until the November release! I seriously could not wait to get Flushed and Coveted on my tips.

Maria explains in her blog here how this collection came to be – basically, the five colors started as requests/suggestions from friends and “Culties.” Kari from Once Bitten named all the colors in this collection – including the one named after her blog!

None of this collection disappointed me. In fact, this is one of the few polish collections over which I have felt a complete wow factor in recent months.

Here’s my swatches!

Disciplined is a light grey packed with blue and magenta shimmer. I see the magenta shimmer strong in real life, but I could not capture it in my pictures; that last shot I have there, purposely blurry, shows a glimpse of the magenta. This is a beautiful shimmer polish. I used three coats.

Afterglow is a brown, copper shimmer with a hint of pink glass fleck. It almost looks like a copper and purple duochrome in my first picture. This is one of my favorites from the collection because it looks so good with my complexion, and I’m a sucker for browns with pink shimmer!! I used two coats.

Bitten is a red pink – magenta – with lots of glass fleck shimmer. This was one that I was unsure about loving, because it seemed like another pink. But wearing it, there’s a depth and glossiness to the shimmer that drew me in. I didn’t want to take it off! I finally did after three days of wear. I used two coats.

Coveted is a kelly green shimmer packed with shredded green glitter. This applied like a jelly, the shimmer is subtle and the effect is gorgeous! Coveted is so unique to anything in my stash. I used two coats.

Flushed is easily one of my favorite polishes of 2012. It is a purple shimmer with this glowing pink duochrome shimmer. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I love it! Another one that I didn’t want to take off!! I need to buy a backup bottle of this. I used two coats here.

I had no application issues with these polishes. If I had to come up with an issue, the only one I have with these is that Bitten and Disciplined are missing their name/ingredient stickers! That’s it!

This collection is available on Cult Nails’ site for $10 a piece. Although Flushed is my clear favorite, I can’t help your wallets; I would recommend getting them all.

Have you picked any of these beauties up? What do you think? Did you pick these up yet?! I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments! Please – delurk?!
