Cosmoprof 2022: NYX Cosmetics Introduces the Glam Collection!

Does the makeup display in the photo above look familiar at all? It’s a NYX Cosmetics display!

Maybe you’ve heard beauty bloggers mention their love of using the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk as a base for their eye shadows to make them POP. Or maybe you’ve picked up one of the recently popular palettes, like Dark Shadows? Ever tried their lipsticks? It doesn’t matter! If you have experienced the brand, and you love it, you will be excited to find out there are plenty of new products launching, and I’m happy to share the sneak peek I got into these new goodies while attending Cosmoprof North America in Las Vegas last weekend!

The Curve Liner

Who in the room hates applying eyeliner, or wishes there was a better way to apply it?! NYX is launching The Curve Liner, an ergonomically-designed, felt-tip liner that has a grip zone just right to make application easier!

Check out the felt-tip:

You can make thin, medium or bold lines with this tip, depending on the pressure you apply during application:

You’ll notice some feathering of those lines on my hand. I plan on using this liner and posting FOTD photos and explaining a bit more about my use of the product, and its wear, because I’m concerned about that feathering. It could just be that my hands are getting old. Ah, the joys of being in my mid-30s!

The Curve Liner comes in one color: Jet Black. It has a MSRP of $15, and has the capacity to hold more product in its reservoir due to its design. It holds .31 oz of product, compared with .10 oz of an eyeliner I’ll be sharing shortly…

The Glam Collection

NYX is launching a line of color with lots of shine and shimmer called The Glam Collection. It includes lip sticks, lip glosses, liquid liners, shadow sticks and shadow singles.

The color scheme is jewel- and earth-toned, and for the most part, the shimmer is high!

There are 22 new colors in the eyeshadow singles.

There are also 11 new lip glosses called Glam Lip Gloss Aqua Luxe. Here’s two:

That’s Disco Playground on the left, and I’m Coming Out on the right!

The applicator is a paddle:

I prefer doe-foot applicators for putting product on my lips, but I find I get more product on the paddles! I also find paddles are good for creating the ombre effect in the inner middle of my lips! Here’s swatches:

These Glam Lip Gloss Aqua Luxe shades have a MSRP of $6. They are pretty and blingtastic! And they will complement well the Glam Lipstick Aqua Luxe!

There are 12 shades of Glam lipstick, with a MSRP of $6. Check out a couple of these lippies:

That’s Pink Jewel on the left and Razzle Dazzle on the right. Here’s swatches:

Hello! High shine, sparkle and color payoff! First swipe was sheer, but these are easily buildable!

I’m a huge lippie fanatic, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to need all of these! As I mentioned with The Curve Liner, I do plan on wear-testing and creating looks with all the makup in this post, I just wanted to get the information out to you; all these new products will start popping up in stores the beginning of August!

Ok. Next up in The Glam Collection is the Glam Liner Aqua Luxe:

That’s Glam Golden on the left and Glam Nude on the right. Check out the swatches:

Wowsers. These apply nice, with a very thin brush. I actually find liquid eyeliner easy to work with, so ergonomic or not, these colors are gorgeous and I can’t wait to use them! Here’s a pic of Glam Azure:

That metallic shade is a crazy, icy blue!

There will be nine liners and they will have an MSRP of $6.

Although I don’t have specific pictures of the shadow sticks, there will be 16 launching, and they will retail for $4.50 a piece.

 New Palettes

NYX is not done yet. There are two – count ‘em – two new palettes launching soon!

First up is Bohemian Chic, a nude matte palette.

A closer look at the shadows:

And the blushes:

Swatches of the blushes:

Swatches of the shadows with the blushes in the second, bottom tier (from left to right in palette):

Row one in the top of the palette, all shadows:

Row two:

Row three:

For the most part, these were soft and velvety to the touch. The shades in the bottom tier of the palette have some shimmer to them.

Bohemian Chic will retail for $18.

Next up is the Be Free palette!

Here’s a closer look at the top of the palette, the eyeshadows:

And the bottom, with blushes and lippies:

Here’s swatches of the lippies and blushes:

That middle blush is GORGEOUS, a bright coral-y pink with golden tones. I hope that one looks good on me!

Shadow swatches. First row:

Row four:

Row five:

Again, the shades in this palette felt nice to the touch. I swatched all shadows in this post without primer.

This palette will retail for $20.

 Studio Finishing Powder

I’ve got one more product launch to share! HD Studio Finishing Powder. This is a 100% pure mineral silica powder that while appearing white in the jar and when it goes on your skin, settles in quite comfortably – absorbing oils and setting foundation.

Can you tell which spot on my hand has the powder?

(Upper middle!) I’ve been using one from It Cosmetics, but I am digging this one, too. Plus, it’s cheaper with an MSRP of $10.

So if you’ve stuck with me this far, bless you and thank you! I just want to share one more thing, because I’m a sucker for the story behind a brand!

Then & Now

Toni Ko started NYX 13 years ago. It’s pronounced “Nick’s,” not “N. Y. X.” as I had been calling it for years (until last year)! Having grown up exposed to the cosmetics industry, Toni wanted to create a brand that offered bright, fun and edgy shades of makeup that at the time, she couldn’t find at the cosmetics counter. NYX delivers on its color promise, and its new offerings above are no less edgy!

Although I didn’t see her this year, I met Toni last year and she’s a woman to be admired. She’s very charismatic, and beautiful!

Customers seem to respond to the brand; in the last two years, NYX Cosmetics reports that sales have increased by 50%. Wow! The products range in price from $3 to $25. You can find the brand sold in Ulta, Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom’s, Bed Bath and Beyond, Hot Topic, and more than 10,000 professional beauty outlets (online and in stores) throughout the United States. NYX is also sold worldwide.

So what do you think of NYX? What’s your favorite product from the brand? More importantly – what from the above new goodies catches your eye?! I’m all about the lippies and the eyeliners, myself!! I’d love to hear your thoughts below!
