Coffee Chat Link Up

Good morning, lovelies!

I am participating in my very first link-up today, and I am very excited to contribute to Miranda’s Coffee Chat. This is a perfect link-up to start off on because anyone who knows me knows that I am OBSESSED with coffee, and I LOVE to talk. So grab a cup of coffee and stay awhile…

If we were grabbing a cup of coffee together, I would tell you how I’m really nervous to start grad school. Don’t get me wrong, I’m also really excited! PRAISE THE LORD I FINALLY have a set PLAN for my life, which is something I’ve been waiting for so long! I am beyond happy that the application process is done and that I am admitted. I will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh to pursue my Master’s in school counseling.  ….However, I am also REALLY nervous because I’m not sure how much time I will be able to dedicate to my blog, which is something that I have become passionate about! I know that at some point we all have to pick and choose our battles, but I’m just not sure if I’m ready to pick a battle yet. That being said, I’m just looking forward to whatever the future holds. I love my life right now, but I am ready to commit to a career and to make some money! I am currently nannying right now, and although I absolutely adore the kids, I am ready to become a professional.

I love this man!

Even through the confusion, I am counting my blessings. I am incredibly blessed because with the location of this grad school, I will no longer need to do long-distance with my boyfriend of two years! Oshkosh is close to where we are originally from, Green Bay, WI. We did long distance when I was in undergrad; I lived 4 hours across the state. Now that I am home for good, life has never been better. I will be able to commute to school and come home to him every night. I missed him so much and it was SO hard to be away from each other. Trevor is my best friend and together, we have created a simple, happy life. Speaking of a happy life…

If we were grabbing a cup of coffee together, I would tell you how excited I am about our home renovation process. I am currently turning the spare bedroom into my own office! I am so excited and will have pictures for you to come. The color scheme will be gray, white, and black. My mom and I are currently painting my dresser white, and Trevor is building me a desk. I also went on a Target run not too long ago and bought tons of awesome decor!! I can’t wait to arrange it all!! (Target is VERY DANGEROUS, people!!!!!!!!) In addition, I finally added the finishing decorating touches to our dining room and living room. I slowly have been adding pieces to it to create that rustic, antique look. (For more details, see this and this post). We have a small home, but I love it! Who needs a big home anyways? We are young, and it’s just a starter home. A smaller home = less space to clean!!

Our home may be small but it sure does hold a lot of love!

Lastly, if we were grabbing coffee together, I would tell you how ecstatic I am to go to New York in three weeks! Trevor and I love to travel together and our next destination is NYC. Trevor is a sweetheart because he already went to NYC before we met, but he’s willing to go again just because it is my dream destination. My birthday is a month after our trip, and for an early present, he bought us Broadway tickets to see the Lion King! I’m beyond excited to go AND to blog about it- I will have so many stories and awesome pictures!

Thanks for having coffee with me! How has your week been? Please leave me a comment below.
