I have mentioned before that I am a big coffee drinker, and it is of course not limited to while I am home. A big issue that I often have with travel mugs is burning my mouth or tongue so I was happy to have the chance to review a Brugo Mug.

What is different about the

Brugo Travel Mug

is that it has a 2 oz temperature control chamber at the top allowing you perfect taste and temperature control. Simply tip to fill the chamber, give it a little swirl, and your coffee is nearly instantly cooled. The mug holds a total of 16 oz and the lid has a dial with three options – Lock, Tip and Cool, and Sip. I found the dial on my mug to be a bit stiff to easily turn so I tended to leave it on one setting but it was nice to have the lock option for times I thought my mug might be at risk of tipping over.

did in fact get tipped over a few times, and while it leaked a bit the mess was no where near as much as a regular mug would have made. The Tip and Cool option does work and if you switch between it and the Sip option you can really tell the difference. Even after an hour my coffee was still nice and hot but the sips that you get with the Tip and Cool setting were the perfect temperature! Even still, I use the Sip option more often because I was finding myself frustrated that the coffee was not coming out fast enough for my liking with the Tip and Cool. It has a non-slip bottom, ergonomic grip, fits all cup-holders and is available in 13 different colors.

The mug is hand wash only, and one complaint I have is that the inside is too small to actually fit a hand down into. It wasn’t a problem for me really, and I realize if the inside was bigger then the outside would no longer be the ideal cup-holder size but thought I would mention it. Another issue I had is that the screw on cap has a small tab that lines up with another tab on the mug so that you know that you have it sealed all the way. What happened when I was turning the cap is this little tab cut my finger – like a paper cut. It taught me to hold the lid differently while turning to avoid it but my finger wasn’t very happy about it at the time!
