Barielle Summer Brights Collection

The last week and a half have been sad. I watched my Aunt Judy (my namesake) take her last breath at the hospital, then this past Thursday, placed a flower on her casket. Between her death and her funeral, I had my engagement photo shoot, my 36th birthday and on Friday, I took a road trip to Massachusetts for the Brahmin Tent Sale with fellow blogger Melody from Cosmetically Challenged.
I’m finally back to regular posting, and I think it’s key to get back to normalcy and blogging again. But thank you for understanding and sticking by me as I took a much needed break to grieve. I even had a slight weight gain – my first since starting Medifast in December 2012 – but I’m refocused and on the road to finishing my weight loss.
As I get back into blogging, I was excited to grab these colorful polishes for my first review post back! The weather is definitely warmer now here in South Jersey, and I’m enjoying not just lighter clothing, but brighter nail polish and nail art!
Barielle released a five-piece set for summer called “Summer Brights” that fits right in with the warming temperatures and upcoming beach season! It’s got my favorite color (blue!) and my favorite right-now color (yellow) with some staple bright pinks and a surprising pop of green!
The colors are well-pigmented and bright. How about some swatches?!
First up! Cosmic Kiss:
Cosmic Kiss is a bright pink – it’s on my toes right MEOW!!!! (with a glitter big toe accent, of course!)
Blue Capri is a vibrant blue – this is one of my favorite shades of blue!
Lemondrops is a bright, dandelion yellow creme. This is one of my favorites!
I paired Blue Capri with Lemondrops for a simple accent nail mani recently:
This was super cute yet simple, and the blue is actually more color accurate than my swatches below!
Sweet Addiction is a dusty green creme, a nice muted – yet bright – take on the Pantone Color of the Year (emerald).
Pink Flip-Flops is a vibrant light bubble gum creme. I love this type of pink, it’s soft, but it’s so bright!
Overall, I found these polishes easy to work with and have no complaints. Barielle Shades polishes are $8 a piece. You can get a five-pack with all the Summer Brights for $25, which is quite the bargain! Barielle also offers free shipping on orders more than $50.
What do you think of the Summer Brights? Do they pique your interest? Which ones do you like best? I think my favs are Lemondrops, Blue Capri and Pink Flip-Flops! I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
